Working together

Terms

These terms set general expectations for enquiries, custom website projects, managed hosting and use of the Appear Online website.

Quotes and project agreements

These website terms provide general information about working with Appear Online. They do not replace an accepted quote, proposal, statement of work or other project-specific agreement.

Your accepted quote or agreement sets the scope, price, payment timing, responsibilities and expected delivery arrangements for your project. If these general terms differ from a project-specific agreement, the project-specific agreement applies to that project.

Project scope and client information

We build each project around the work described in the accepted quote. You are responsible for providing accurate, complete and lawful information, content, images, access details and feedback reasonably needed to complete the work. Delays in receiving these items may affect the delivery or launch timing.

Approvals, revisions and additions

We may ask you to review and approve content, designs, functionality or other project stages. Timely, consolidated feedback helps keep the project on schedule. Once an item is approved, later changes may affect timing or cost.

Revisions during the build are unlimited within the accepted scope. New pages, substantial redesigns, integrations, features or functionality outside that scope are additional work and will be discussed and quoted separately before we proceed.

Delivery and launch timing

Any delivery or launch date is based on the agreed scope, the information available at the time and both parties meeting their responsibilities. Timing may change if the scope changes, approvals or materials are delayed, or an external service is unavailable. The applicable quote or agreement will set out any project-specific timing commitments.

Managed hosting and leaving

Appear Online provides free managed hosting for websites we build, unless a project-specific quote or agreement says otherwise. Managed hosting is subject to reasonable use and the continued availability of the systems and third-party services used to provide it.

You are not locked in to our hosting. If you decide to leave, you may request a reasonable handover of the approved website files and client-provided or project-specific assets that we are entitled to supply. We will provide them in a commonly usable form so another provider can host the website. Third-party licences, accounts, proprietary tools and services that cannot be transferred are not included.

Ownership and permitted materials

You own the approved website and the business content you provide. Detailed ownership and licence arrangements are set out in the accepted quote or agreement. You must have permission to use any text, images, branding, data or other materials you provide. Pre-existing tools, reusable code, licensed software and third-party materials remain subject to their existing ownership and licence terms.

Optional improvements after launch

There is no mandatory subscription. Check-ins, data reviews and presenting recommendations are free, and their timing depends on your business. If we recommend separate work after launch, we explain its scope and provide a one-off price for your approval. Work starts only after you approve it: no approval means no charge and no implementation. There is no lock-in or surprise billing.

Third-party services and fees

Domains, payment providers, ecommerce systems, plugins, integrations, analytics, email services and other external systems may charge their own fees and operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Unless included in an accepted quote, those fees are your responsibility. We are not responsible for changes, outages, review processes or delays controlled by a third party, but we will take reasonable steps to help where the issue affects work we provide.
